Ultrasonic Hardness Tester (UCI - Ultrasonic Contact Impedance method) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) device used to measure the hardness of a material by using a vibrating rod to assess its indentation resistance.

Purpose (Usage)

The primary purpose of an ultrasonic hardness tester is to provide precise, micro-hardness measurements on materials that cannot be tested with heavy impact methods.

·Micro-measurements: It is used to test thin walls, small gears, case-hardened layers, or coatings (down to a few microns).
·Geometric Versatility: It allows for testing in tight spaces (like gear teeth roots) or on complex geometries where an anvil cannot support the part.
·Quality Control: It verifies surface hardness consistency after heat treatment processes like carburizing, nitriding, or induction hardening.
